Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, Modern British and Impressionist & Modern Works of Art.

Dickinson is a world leader in the international art market with an unrivalled reputation for quality and discretion. As pioneers in the market for private treaty sales, we specialise in providing an alternative to buying and selling at auction, negotiating purchases and sales on a commission basis. The strength of our team enables Dickinson to offer a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Established in 1993 by Simon Dickinson, formerly Senior Director of Christie’s Old Master & British Pictures, and David Ker, a dealer in British Pictures, the firm rapidly established itself as a leading London dealership for Old Master and British Paintings. Soon after its founding Dickinson branched into Impressionist and Modern Art under the direction of James Roundell.

In January 2023, Milo Dickinson joined the company as Managing Director. Echoing the career of his father, who founded the company in 1993, Milo joined from Christie’s where he worked for over a decade in several leading roles in both the Old Master Paintings and European Sculpture departments. Following Milo’s arrival the company expanded into selling Old Master Sculpture, and the gallery will present Impressionist, Modern British Art and Old Masters alongside each other in fresh and original settings, offering a contemporary salon for art connoisseurs and enthusiasts.

Today, Dickinson handles a uniquely broad range of quality artworks, from early Renaissance masters through to blue-chip twentieth century artists and is able to assist buyers and sellers across a wide spectrum. Relying on decades of experience in the art market and familiarity with the world’s greatest collections, Dickinson offers our clients a discreet and professional service.
