17th Century Dutch & Flemish Old Master Paintings. Valuations.

Johnny started his career in the PR and stamp departments at Christies in 1969, where he discovered an affinity with Dutch Old Masters. With his wife Sarah, he opened a gallery in Bond Street in 1977, specialising in Dutch and Flemish Old Master Paintings of the 16th and 17th Centuries – the only gallery in London dealing exclusively in this field. In 1982, he moved to Duke Street, St. James’s, where he remained until 2017. Johnny has been variously Chairman of Pictura and on the Executive Committee of TEFAF, Maastricht, a member of the Reviewing Committee for the Export of Works of Art, a member of SLAD since 1977 and Vice Chairman for three years from 1998-2000. He has also served on the Council of BADA, on the Grosvenor House Fair Executive Committee, and as a Trustee of the Dutch Masters Foundation and a Trustee of the Dulwich Picture Gallery. Since moving from the West End in 2017 Johnny has continued to deal privately and by appointment from his office in Ham near Richmond in Surrey.
