Alden R. Bennett
Alden R. Bennett is a highly respected London based independent art dealer with over 25 years’ experience. Alden works as a fine art adviser, agent and dealer, offering impartial advice to collectors and museums all over the world.
Alden studied History of Art at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) and has followed in his father’s footsteps taking over the family business in London, specialising in British and French art from 18th to 20th Century. He and his team help private collectors and global institutions build bespoke collections and create investment portfolios.
Alden has been credited with several major discoveries including works by Sir Thomas Lawrence, Eugène Delacroix and Sir Joshua Reynolds. In addition, he helped place an important work by Fernand Léger, Étude pour Les Disques from 1919, into a major private collection.
Alden has an extensive client portfolio offering advice and brokerage services for many international museum collections. He has worked with a number of London based museums and galleries including the V&A (Victoria and Albert), the National Portrait Gallery, the Geffrey museum, The House of Commons and the Parliamentary Art Collection. Alden also works with museums around the world including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Munch Museum in Oslo, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Springville, Museum of Art, Utah and the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in California.
